Pastor's Thoughts: October
Trunk-Or-Treat
Trunk-or-Treat is just about three weeks away. I hope you are making plans on attending and supporting this community outreach event. The goal of Trunk-or-Treat is to provide a safe place for our community to bring their families to dress up, have fun, play games, and, of course, get some candy.
We will need plenty of helpers to make Trunk-or-Treat happen. We will need plenty of people to host trunks and pass out candy to the children. There will be a need for volunteers to oversee the different games that we will have set up. A prayer booth will also be set up where we can pray for the people in our community. We will also need people who are willing to engage the families that come and share the gospel with them. I hope you will pray about how God wants to use you for this event. If you are interested in serving, please contact Dawn Gracy. You can email her at: childrensministry@nhbcleaguecity.com.

Pray for Israel
I am not sure if you are aware or not, but Israel is at war. This is a terrible time for the people who live in that part of the world. The terror group known as Hamas launched a full-scale assault on Israel over the weekend. While I do not fully understand the ins and outs of this war, I know that Hamas desires to see Israel destroyed and that is evil. Join with me in prayer that God would protect the people of Israel and this war would end quickly.
New Sermon Series: Joel
Last Sunday (10/8/23) we began a new sermon series in the Old Testament prophet Joel. I believe this is a timely sermon series for us because I believe that there are some powerful promises of God that we can look forward to. God promises to fill His people with His Holy Spirit. God promises to do wonders before the world. I believe that God is preparing NHBC to wonderful things and use us to build His kingdom and glorify His name. I do not know what these things are but I am praying for God do things that are so great, that only He could get the glory for it. Will you join with me in prayer through this sermons series and plead with God to use NHBC to do great things for His glory?
