Pastor's Thoughts: March

Spring is one of my favorite seasons. There are many things that I enjoy about spring. I enjoy that the days get warmer. I enjoy that the days get longer. I love Spring because it reminds us of the wondrous ways of God. Things that appear to be dead from the cold of winter come back to life in the Spring. I love the imagery of this season because it reminds me of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the promise of resurrection that all of Jesus’s disciples will one day experience.

Spring Community Groups begin this month. Community groups are another form of small group designed to provide a place for church members and our guests to begin their discipleship journey. They meet for eight weeks to provide everyone with multiple opportunities to join a group throughout the year. This flexible structure is designed to work with people’s busy schedules today. Community Groups will be a sermon-based small group that provides an emphasis on discussion from the weekly sermon.

There will be two Community Groups offered this spring. The Spring Community Groups will meet from the week of March 23 through the week of May 18. The Barker/Delling Community Group will meet at the Delling’s home at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings. The Hollan/Bukowski Community Group will meet at the Bukowski’s home at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings. If you would like to register for either one of these Community Groups, go to the “Upcoming Events” tab on our website and click on whichever one you would like to register for and sign up. These small groups will consist of a maximum of twelve people, so be sure and register soon.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the high and holy calling that You have placed on my life to pastor Your people. It is truly a wonderful prvilidge it is to serve New Hope as the pastor. Thank You for the amazing work that You are doing at New Hope. I pray for New Hope to be obedient to Your will. I ask that You would lead me as I seek to lead the church. God, give us the grace we need to fulfill the Great Commission and build Your Kingdom to the ends of the earth. Father, use us to bring Your name glory forever and ever. Amen!
